Maoilios (Miles) the Monkey
First contacted by Lex Lamb of small-media-large, an online & graphic design agency based in Glasgow, Scotland. I was asked to create & illustrate a mischievious monkey character as part of his client, The National Gaelic Educational Resource Agency's website Gaelic4Parents.com - a place for parents & children interested/involved in Gaelic Education.
The character was to be adaptable for most everyday situations & child friendly. Part of the brief was to have Maoilios animated in some way & it was agreed to have him ride onto the screen on a bike. B&W line illustrations were also to be drawn for the website's Make & Print section, allowing the children to download, print & colour-in themselves greeting cards, door signs & book plates.
Lex & his client were very happy with the outcome, expressing their delight in the creativity, value & delivery of the overall project.
I was contacted at a later date to produce more illustration work for use as a height chart & other related material.
