Original image of a Superman toy casting a big shadow.
The original image manipulated using Photoshop.
Original threshold image in Acustom dot form flipped. This was done to get the shadow in dot form to look the other way from Superman. Inspired me to create my own Risograph piece.
The first layer for the Riso piece of the dotty shadow.
The second layer of Superman's body and a splat.
The third layer of Superman's famous "S" symbol and another slat running down.
The fourth and final layer of Superman's head, hair and facial features.
Original splat images from Photoshop. Used from a previous C.M.Y.K digital image.
The finished Risograph piece of Superman with his dotted shadow. I love this piece because the four colours make the piece look both hip and unusual. It looks like Superman's shadow is trying to tell him "You can't escape your destiny." The pink bloody splat running down the dotted shadow implies that Superman's ego is hurt and he feels unwanted by society.
My own original still life image of a Batman chess piece from my chess piece collection.
Original image manipulated using Photoshop.
Original manipulated image in Threshold form. Love the grim and brutal look to it, like the comics.
Background layer for the piece.
The Threshold image layer piece ontop of the background layer piece.
Third layer piece of Batman's suit and outline of cape.
Fourth and final layer piece of the title, Batman's utility belt and his logo on his chest.
Finished piece of a four-layered Screen-Print piece of "The Knight". I love it because it looks like original Batman comic book artwork. I also love the classical choice of colours to the piece.
Original picture of the Star Wars spin-off character, The Mandalorian. Found it in a fashion magazine and decided to create a my own Screen-Print poster with it.
One of four layers. That of the Bounty Hunter's strap, belt buckle and arm armour.
Second layer of the Hunter's chest armou, leg armour, gloves, belt, weapon holster, helmet and the right shoulder armour.
Third layer of the Hunter's glove finger and patch, part of the helmet and the left shoulder armour. With the fourth layer of the suite, gun in holster, mask on the helmet and rifle on the Hunter's back..
Final layer of the title of the poster. It's in the Star Wars mythological language, meaning "Mandalorian".
The finished four-layerd Screen-Print poster of "The Mandalorian". I love it because of the use and choice of colours darkened and registered together as one. Love that it looks hip and poster of the figure and with the title on the side, makes the poster look abit like a men's fashion poster.
An original collage of two models placed together through a hand. Made it myself. Will be making a five-layered Risograph piece consisting of 5 separate ink atop of each other.
One of the five layer pieces for the Riso piece. Eyes, first lip, hairs and hand outtline. Will be coated in blue ink.
The second layer piece of the hand. Will be coated in Black ink.
Third layer of the face to look like a mask and the second lip. Will be coated in Orange ink.
Fourth layer piece first piece of hair. Will be coated in Yellow ink.
Fifth and final layer piece of the second piece of hair. Will be coated in Pink ink.
Finished Risograph poster as shown. I love it because it looks like a Spanish fashion art piece, it's got a mixture of 60's and 80's art theme to it, which I love. Also because it's a gritty homage to one of my favourite Riso artists, Jose Antonio Roda Martinez. I love that everything is not what it seems, it's ambigous.
An original image of Leonardo DiCaprio as a cowboy from the movie "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood". Found this small image in an old film magazine and it inspired me to make up my own vintage 1960's-themed Spaghetti Western design poster.
The original image blown up a few times via scanner. I like the look of this image because it makes the figure look rugged, distorted and vintage. It also maked the figure look like Wyatt Earp or Buffalo Bill. I even thought of a Lee Marvin kind of look from the movie "Cat Ballou".
The poster's title "El Vagabundo". It's Spanish for "The Wanderer". I researched titles in Spanish for "Drifter" and Tramp" and came across the title as displayed. I found the best Wild West font and carefully made my title on the Paint tool on my Laptop.
The finished poster as shown.I love it because the blood red background looks appropriate for a Spaghetti Western poster. Love how the figure is walking out of the background and that the figure is fully jet black ink. Also love the brown ink in the font's outline, making it look engraved.
Monoprint of the Mandalorian piece. I love this piece because the look of the piece in pencil strokes and the distortion makes the piece look like Japanese art. The Bounty Hunter looks like a Japanese Warrior of the Toyotami Clan from the Siege of Osaka from 1615, the Edo period.
