Introduction
myToys is an interactive device that dispenses and shares toys for toddlers to promote physical interaction and fun. It aims to assist parents by limiting and controlling a child’s digital screen time. Three kinds of interactions are embedded in myToys. The interaction between children and toys, between children and the device, and last, between toys and the device. It features variety, visual and auditory feedback, and intuitive operation.
How to Play
After turning on, myToys starts with a button pattern in which different buttons will light up. After pressing the luminous button, the light will turn off. Once the toddler finish the button pattern, he/she can get the first toy through the front door. Children are supposed to share the current toy with the device to get a different one via the sliding door on the right side. Toddlers can play with the device as well. If they push the device in the hand-shaped area on the left side, myToys will light up and sing a song. The last interaction happens between toys and the device. Once children get a toy from the device, they can use the toy to interact with the device. For example, if the monkey doll came out, children can drag it on the surface of the device. Once they finish the path from home to forest or either way, myToys will light up with rainbow lights and sing a song.
