OVER THE BASIS

 

Over the basis is a collage project that I had started reading and looking images that are showed in Colombian magazines. During this process I sow that every elaborated image has some formula to generate a lecture, leading the eye of the audience. What I mean is that the images are not neutral always they are mediated by a communicative intension; these intention can be, symbolic, political, ideological, etc.

In that way I used collage to reorganize that complex puzzle of images. My intention is not to create a new reality, I want to subvert language and show how images that appear in mass media represent the complexity of our lives, our thoughts, our esthetics, ideology, prejudices, ugliness etc.
