Rice cookers, simply a cooking machines are not welcome anymore in the kitchen. A clunky design, which doesn't match the kitchen,is covered or hidden in a shelf.
As you can feel from the coinage of the kitchen-terior (kitchen + interior), people started to prefer the design that fits the space. To fit in to the interior design of any white toned kitchens, the design of the cooker accepted the minimal concaved round shape in a metal base. Aside from the shape and proportion of a typical cooker, the cooker was designed as an 'objet' in the kitchen table.
In addition, the complex control unit is arranged in a circular molding on the front so when it is turned off the unit is invisible. When you want to use the cooker, natural scrolling of the unit is available anytime.
