CATHARSIS 2013
The chief afflatus of the collection is the musical composition “Song for the Unification” by the Polish composer Zbigniew Preisner. Its musical geometry creates an extraordinary atmosphere and sets a highly dramatic mood. The lyrics are in Greek and are based on Chapter 13 of the First Epistle to the Corinthians, attributed to Paul the apostle, and they pose questions of existential nature and give a possible answer.

Other literary inspirations come from different works of W. Shakespeare and W. H. Auden. The credit for the visual nature of the collection may be taken by the similarities between the male and female body and the unobstructed exposure of body hair in men. The melancholy in the silhouettes comes from some macabre crepuscular moths and the cooling water, submerging the pebbles and sand at twilight.

The garments are stripped of all unnecessary. There are no conventional fastenings or fabric finishing. A going back to some antic constructions and techniques may be observed. They are wearable and androgynous, and are designed for people of all ages and sex who value the freedom of their body.
