I was contacted by Amran through my services page on Mandy.com. Amran was working on the finishing touches for her Mutare documentary; a short film on forgiveness and change in Palestine. She required the printed materials necessary for marketing the documentary and I was happy to oblige.

 

Tasked with creating the documentary poster, dvd inlay and social media graphics I set about brainstorming several approaches. As I researched deeper into the topic, I came across the ‘passing the olive branch’ symbolism, which led to a very in-depth illustration. 

 

A second idea was a simple edit of a very thoughtful photograph with contributor Sara Amin Nejad. With some tinkering of the colour and a handwritten title I was able to do a good job of demonstrating the human elements of the film and low key documentary style.

 

This became the key art for the film, implemented into Quads, a Twitter background and web banners.
