20 ft Marble Multi-Display Touch Display
At Ideum, I designed a marble touch table for a corporate client. A consulting firm, IDEO, brought the project to Ideum with the outer design fleshed out. Based off of their design, I created the shop drawings while working closely with Gensler, IDEO, and the end-client to ensure that the end-product was exactly what they envisioned.
Ideum's fabrication team, myself included, built the table's wooden interior frame then covered the frame in fiberglass to provide additional support. A local vendor, Rocky Mountain Stone, then applied the marble to the interior frame.
The table was built and shipped in five separate parts: three main sections and two doors. Once all of the parts had arrived at their final destination, the entire structure was pulled together to make one massive touch table.
Ultimately, table included three Ideum 86" multi-touch displays, 88 motion sensors, and nearly 1,000 LED lights. As visitors approach the table the LED lights will change color and the software will activate near the visitor.
