This project required us to create a collage as a tribute to a famous person. Jackie Robinson has been a hero of mine since I was a child, and I wanted to pay tribute to his pioneering career. I used his initial contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers as a backdrop, since it was such a mundane thing (a legal document) that made such a seismic difference in baseball, and in American society. I chose an iconic photo of Robinson stealing home--his signature move--and the bright color of his signature is Dodger blue. His number, 42, has been retired throughout Major League Baseball and in the bottom left corner, I added Ebbets Field, where he played. Finally, I chose the central image because you can see the determination in his eyes.
