For my A2 project i decided to make outdoor seating with the client being my parents, I wanted to make something that looked nice and fit into my clients tastes but that could also be stored easily, I came up with the idea that the two chairs get pushed together and the table slots in the middle, when deciding on my chair size I looked into anthropoetric data and this helped me shape the chair and so instead of having a circular table and  a semicircle cut away in the chairs I made the table more of an ellipse and the chairs would correspond being half ellipses this allowed the chair to have thicker arm rests but be the required depth for someone to sit on, as the original circle design made the arm rests thin whilst maintaining the space for someone to sit on it which is what i didnt want. I incorportated into the design a solar panel which would charge during the day and if someone were to sit outside during darker periods of the day they can use the switch on the left hand side to illuminate the six LEDs recessed in the chair arms. I also took advantage of Ikea offcuts from damaged furnitre which were supplied to the school for free for use in projects such as mine, the majority of my chair frame and table frame were made from this reused timber, I used outdoor mdf for the cladding of the frame and marine plywood for the tops of the table and chair the mdf was primed and glossed while the plywood was laqured to bring out the wood grain and also waterproof the marine ply even more.
