I created the ROVA Project as part of my PhD (Design). I used speculative/critical design to create a prototype “thankable appliance” - a robot vacuum called ROVA (Relationally Optimised Vacuum Assistant). My research explored innovative ways to make consumer appliances more emotionally durable and help promote sustainable behaviour.
