I created this illustration in honor of Robert Lopez and Ruben Salazar, both former Los Angeles Times reporters. Ruben Salazar was a civil rights activist and a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, the first Mexican-American journalist from mainstream media to cover the struggles of the Chicano community.
