所謂的「空間記憶」不應該由歷史學家或是觀光手冊來書寫，而是應由眾人的經驗感受拼組而成，且唯有透過大量的訪談採集，方能參透。

「空間記憶採集計畫」是2018年由在地偏好工作室發起的藝術行動。透過訪談地方人士對於生活場所的記憶與感受，將其重新編輯整理成為一系列的關鍵詞，每一個字詞皆指涉一個特定的地方印象或事件。我們希望透過這種陳述方式，讓大家感受到一條街、一個社區或一座城市的多重面向。透過「空間記憶採集計畫」我們想傳達的是，許多地方場所並非只是歷史文獻、地圖或報告書上生硬的名詞而已，我們必須理解實地在這裡生活、工作、安居的人們對於該的的所見所想，如此方能知悉這一場所對於人們而言究竟有何意義。

寶藏巖乘載了台北過去幾十年的歷史記憶。仔細檢視其中建築物的細節，還能讀到許許多多的「人」曾經存在此地。或許我們慢慢對於寶藏巖的地理及歷史意義已有所熟悉，然而不同地方人士口中說出的「寶藏巖」，可能指涉的意涵卻仍有著根本的不同。每個人都懷抱著不同的情感或態度看待這個地方，就如同人們看待大城市一樣：對某些族群來說，它僅是一個暫時的棲所、落腳處、得過且過的所在；但是對另一些人而言卻早已是心中認定的終生歸宿。

Treasure Hill is a historic site carrying decades of memories of Taipei. Take a close look at the structures here, and you will find proof of the existence of generations of people. Though we may have become more knowledgeable about Treasure Hill in geographical and historical terms, it is important to understand that not every local inhabitant perceives Treasure Hill the same way, for they approach it with different sentiments and perspectives, just as people in general do urban cities. To some people, this is no more than a temporary shelter, a place where one stops to rest for a bit before moving on. For some others, Treasure Hill is the place they call home.
