Inspired by the beautiful work of Malcolm Liepke I digitally painted a version of one of his paintings. I tried to stretch the characters between real and cartoon and then painted it through the "underlightning" process which basically consists of painting as if all the elements were in a dark room and then adding lights with "overlay" layer mode in PS.
