Biofuel & Bio-Luminescence Micro-algae

Biofuel and Bio-Luminescence Micro-Algae
The blue circles in the micro-algaes above representing blue light emitting from Luciferin.

Because I am not a Biology specialist, this concept is created to raise a Question for the Bio-technology scientists, Algae Specialists, Microbiologist or someone who is in the Micro -Algae field... whether this is possible?

If the compound "Luciferin" ( biological light emitting pigments) from the bio-lumininescent Algae that could emit light are transmitted into another type of Algae which produce lipid, these new hybrid of algae could be used to produce bio-fuel and emit light at the same time.

Implementation into building elements
This concept is inspired by the first algae bioreactor facade in a pilot project at the International Building Exhibition (IBA) in Hamburg in 2013. To further enhance this concept, the facade should be light up by itself without any artificial lighting.

It is only feasible :
1) When the Blue lux level could be refined into higher lux level that could provide adequate lighting for destined tasks such as for lighting up the facade of a building.
2) Also, it is better (commercially) when less energy is used to extract lipid as compare to other energy sources such as energy used to burn fuel to generate electricity or building solar panel (BIPV)
3) Another consideration is whether this algae need addition energy (pump / gas) to be in constant motion for creating the Bio-light at night

Disclaimer: Video is for representing concept idea only, it is not the Real algae for biofuel.
