Something I liked about this task was the ability to not only creatively choose the photo to recreate, but we could also express our recreation in our own way, to alter photo to fit our mood and the resources available.

The difficulties of this task included thinking about which props and/ or locations would work best to recreate the image best. This, of course, is limited as anything not able to be recreated would need to be replaced, such as the background, as best as possible.

The problem that was solved was the lighting. As only one light pole was able to be given to us, my partner had to use a mobile phone’s torch to add another light source, which had to be recoloured in light room to better match the main light source

I believe the sharpness and lighting makes this image stand out as it is dull lighting, giving a darker mood to the whole picture. The sharpness of the models face is also a nice effect as that is where your eyes are drawn to, even when not much of the face is exposed.

The only edits I made to the image were the colouring. This was to make the atmosphere more moody and also to make the colouring of the light sources slightly more similar than they were at first.

If more resources were available I would consider changing the background to better recreate the original image. The only downside to this would be that it would decrease the mood that i was going for with these images.
