Yes Please: All Signs Point to Yes

YES PLEASE:
ALL SIGNS POINT TO YES.

YES YES YES
Sit back, relax, and say yes to a good time: that’s what Yes Please is all about. Made for nights and days when you just can't deal, Yes Please is the place to call home after a long day at work.

Our strategy was to create a chill bar environment for 90's millennial babies using a mix of neon (basically the millennial fly traps of our time), graffiti, gritty posters, and murals that evoke the feel of a cool friend's basement—casual but cool enough to be intrigued and fun enough to make you want to stay past your curfew. Every touchpoint was deliberate from the magic 8 ball references to the dogs bobbing their heads to the beat of the music—a nod (literally) to the name Yes Please. The result? We think the bar's popularity is a testament to the project's success.

SPECIAL THANKS
To the clients who say yes.
Yes Please needed to be a haven for those who were thirsty for a different kind of nightlife. One of the first things we did was to take a good look at the market and the nightlife scene. It so happened that a large chunk of the crowd was veering away from wild nights at the club, yet on the flip side, Yes Please was never meant to be a speakeasy either. So what did we do? What did Yes Please need to be?

We picked apart the best aspects of different kinds of local nightlife: the eclectic energy of a club, the coolness of a speakeasy, and the welcoming atmosphere or your local pub; but made these things our own. It was the perfect formula. All that aside, at the end of the day and to make Yes Please stay true to what it was meant to be, we needed the brand to exude that "come as you are" kind of vibe. That's where our branding came in.
The bar's most Instagrammed detail: the infinity neon mirrors that beckon a selfie. We drew the letters and hand icons from scratch and translated them into neon flex signages.
We drew sets of quirky pop and street culture inspired illustrations that were translated into graffiti within the space.
Dogs bobbing their heads to the beat of Yes Please.
Yup, we thought about this detail, too.

"When the night comes, the lights drop at Yes Please. All thar stand out are the neon lights and dim chandeliers faintlu spotlighing the vintage-looking velvet sofas, graffiti on concrete walls, and the bar with long rows of heard liquors. The place has an unrestricted and casual atmosphere, almost with an enigmatic feel to it."

For their toilet signages and other small things, we designed around the question: Who said these things had to be boring? Say no more.
Say yes to a good night
