Chilean rodeo and Wine

Valparaiso, Chile
Chilean Rodeo is an old tradition in Chile, only a few places still currently demonstrate this rodeo. The aim is to pin a cow or calf into some cushions on both sides of the round arena. Points are deducted for harming the cow, for letting the cow get lose and also for incorrect manoeuvre. It takes 2 cowboys, one to hold the cow in place and the other runs sideways keeping it tight between both the horses.

Chile is also well known for the production of wine, some of the best wines come from all over Chile depending on the region.

4 cowboys circle the arena ahead of a demonstration
Just like american rodeo these horses are extremely responsive to their rider and can stop and turn incredible fast
The closer to the cows tail the cowboy is holding receives the higher points. 0 points is given if the cows face is touched
Chileans also pride themselves on their horsemanship
Ahead of the rodeos traditional dances are taken part in
