Steel Canines - Training equiptment

Canes de Acero - Steel Canines
The national police department offers a canine entertainment event that shows the training they give to the dogs. During the event, the police show the audience how the canines are trained to find drugs, detect explosives and immobilize suspicious, among other activities. The main problem the “Carabineros” team has its the equipment they use. It is not portable, is heavy and difficult to transport, and they cannot find commercial pieces as a replacement in case they need it.

Translational and user-centered design methods were used in the design process, identifying problematic situations in the agility obstacles equipment owned by the National Police. Based on the capabilities of the trained dogs, these obstacles were redesigned, considering international regulations and requests from the canine guides.
