"KOI" - Fibreglass Aeroshell

The aim of this project was to create a design solution for a one–off research vehicle that is being developed by the Automotive Research Department of the University of Bradford. This vehicle is a human powered tricycle that features an electric motor which will be combined with a torque sensor to create a “green” everyday commuter vehicle for road use. The needed design solution transforms the steel tube construction of the tricycle into an aesthetically pleasing and desirable commuter vehicle that will offer comfort, practicality, economy and joy to the user. Although this is a one–off vehicle, it is able to make a competitive product in the European electric recumbent tricycles and bicycles market.
