The Soul of Japan

THE SOUL OF JAPAN

Fascinated by the culture and beauty of Japan, I wanted to share what has always interested me about this country, in the form of a magazine. From the Edo period, through the Meiji era, to the 21st century, I retrace the major events and multiple evolutions of this country, with simplicity and aestheticism.

I wanted to take the reader on a journey, discovering the history, religions and particularities of Japan.

The name Bushido was chosen for its initiatory and philosophical aspects. This samurai code of conduct promotes chivalric values and morals, such as courage, benevolence and loyalty. At the same time cultural and spiritual, the Bushido conveys a very noble and touching image of a nation that has always had a particular relationship with the West.

To share these values in the right way, a research was carried out on historical documents. A creative work was done on era photos and on the aesthetics of the magazine, in order to convey a minimalist identity.
