This short video explores a female Qatari behavior that highlights the manner of culture adornment. It decodes the struggles through metaphorical use of a watermelon that is present alongside a Qatari character, to allow the viewers to sense and visualize the burden.
A meditated motion will be established through slow panning from frame to frame to maintain visual continuity of subtleness. The use of rack focus will help drive the emphasis away from the human factor, to the abstracted conceptual narrative by building meaning through snippets of the location. The repeated use of depth of field controls the focus on the adornment aspects of jewels, Abaya, shoes, and makeup. It allows it to stand out from its background, yet reveals more of the contextual elements without taking away from the poetic approach. The composition of the frames will be driven from a series of extreme close up and medium shots to accent the adornment features. The use of the extreme shots will highlight the jewels, while the medium shots will focus on the frequent moves of adjusting the Abaya.
