Unimpossible is one of my latest series of sculptural works. It is a study of beautiful forms and concepts that lie just beyond our habitual framework of reference of what is possible. It echoes the idea of bending the limits found in series Levitation and more whimsical If / Then / Otherwise – but explores it in the physical world. The works of this series are created in collaboration with contortionists, athletes with extraordinary abilities.
Having spent almost half of my life in IT and most of it as an artist, I tend to draw parallels between creative and structured thinking that benefits both disciplines. In the course of progress, every field of study and work hits the limits that in the moment of their discovery seem impossible to overcome. It is how we overcome that impossible, that defines the new Unimpossible us.
Gently colored and not in nude, Unimpossible series stands apart from the rest of the body of Ezra's black and white sculptural works. Yet it possesses the familiar composed calm and centeredness, issuing from the carefully sculpted poses and exquisite attention to details, the hallmarks of the artist's style.
