Skincare/Toiletries Carrier for Travel

2019

Adobe Illustrator

This piece is a design for an object that is meant to be filled with toiletries for when you are traveling. The different segments of the objects are magnetic and the user can decide how many of them they will bring with them on their trip depending on the amount of products that they wish to pack. The purpose of this object is to eliminate the plastic waste that comes with packing toiletries when traveling.
Public Bathroom Design for Romanian Cities

2019

Adobe Illustrator, Autodesk Sketchbook

This piece includes the research and the design behind a public bathroom meant for Romanian cities. The first version of the bathroom is a vertical garden and includes a water fountain on the side as well. It is meant to bring small green spaces into the very industrial-looking Romanian cities and would be fertilized with a process called "humanure" that would turn human waste into compost. The second version is a public art space that has a sculpture area on the top part of the bathroom and wall space on the sides. It is meant to bring some life to the cities and to give exposure to Romanian artists.

Birdie

2019

Foam Board, Tyvek, String Lights, Aluminum Wire

32" x 32" x 36"

This piece is a lamp that is inspired by a badminton birdie. A birdie is something that reminds me of childhood memories of playing badminton with my family and I wanted to emulate that feeling of comfort and warmth with this lamp design.

Exoskeleton

2019

Cold Porcelain, Aluminum Wire

In the creation of this piece, I experimented with material making to try to replicate the look of bones for a bracelet design.

Low On Energy

2019

Aluminum Mesh, Aluminum Wire, Embroidery Thread, Ripped Calendar Pieces, Loose Leaf Tea, Resin

18" x 12" x 22"

For this piece, I wanted to create a very large tea bag that is meant to represent the obsession with over-planning and the outcome of it. The inside of the bag is filled with tea (caffeinated tea, to be specific) and my ripped up calendar pieces. The contents of the bag represent my planning, stressing, and overworking that is being discarded. The bottom third of the bag is dipped in resin to trap some of the tea and calendar pieces in place. This represents the idea that not all plans and ideas are concrete and that they can often be altered, even if it is does not seem easy in the moment. The designs that I have embroidered into the bag are an abstraction of the stress that I often cause for myself when I over-plan and the conflict that has with the need to stay organized as a student.

Wooden Fish Tank Stand

2019

Laser Cut Wood

5" x 7" x 6"

This piece is a collaborative work between myself and Arista Wilson. The idea behind the design was to create a stand for a fish tank that is not only visually appealing, but is also functional. On the front of the stand, there is a drawer that can be used to store fish food. The designs are meant to replicate ocean environments such as coral and we also included stylized fish on the sides of the stand and the knob of the drawer to add a playful element to our design.
