Cactus Mask is an installation artwork expresses the relationship between man and his land, and the suffering of Palestinian people and afflicted people too.
Why Cactus?
The shape of prickly pear cactus looks somewhat like an oxygen mask,and in Arabic, the word for cactus -saber- is the same as the word for patience (We are breathing patience). The cactus plant lives a very long time, and it could grow almost everywhere. It has an incredible ability to endure environmental conditions around it. And all of that makes it represented as many iconic human symbols such as patience, resistance, and victory. . All of which made it a suitable surface for the embodiment of deep human pain that worries modern life.
