It rains in torrents, questionable if we can even start in this weather. Then the first rays of sunshine between the dark clouds. After a short briefing, it can start at 8 a.m. Over unpaved slopes and through large puddles it goes into the wilderness.

In the sandy terrain you can test your driving skills on the quad bike. Over hills and valleys, driving is really fun.

I am absolutely thrilled with the landscape. The first stop is at a lake with clear water, which invites you to swim.

Refreshed, we continue through palm forests and small settlements to a distillery. After buying a bottle for home, we continue through lonely landscapes.

In a place with several restaurants there is then a delicious fish dish. In the associated fish farm I see the biggest freshwater fish of my life. As it turns out later, it is one of the greats at all.

By boat we make a detour into the mangroves and discover the forests from the water.

Palm forests flank the path and a large iguana accompanies us for a short time. We stop because the path leads through a really big waterhole. Frank assures "driving through is not a problem", I give gas, the water splashes and I am thrilled. Frank follows me and gets stuck. The liberation of his motorcycle was a bit muddy but very fun.

The next highlight is a huge dune and the magnificent view of the sea. Along the beach, the path goes back to civilization.
