for a Blockchain Tech Company

Challenge:
Client was kind enough to invite for a paid trial for some illustration that would vamp up their existing website. They were after some minimalistic, cyberpunk, techy illustrations that would not disrupt the flow of the existing work done. Their main references were Tron, Akira, Bladerunner etc. The goal was to emphasize the stronger aspects of the product over the competition while making the site look it is more for humans than .
Approach:
Turning the strengths of the product to characters seemed like a good idea, considering the demand for minimalism and the client's stylistic references. I identified 4 strengths of the product as Speed, Security, Science (research) and Engineering and decided to show a few alternatives for each character. After locking the character design, it was much easier to move on to the concept sketches, since the characters already felt alive and aligned with the existing stylistical world.

For the concept sketches, I have tried to show the inner workings of the blockhain tech and the human aspect behind the giant, without compromising from the existing stylistical universe of the website...

After all, the client wanted to pursue a different direction, but this was a very good exercise for me and definitely thought me a lot. Looking back, I think I have spent too much time on the characters and too little time on the concepts. Anyways, you win some, you lose some; in the end, I have a great project for my Behance portfolio.
