In the spring of 2010, NAU Campus Climate Challenge proposed a $5 fund coming from the contributions of each student enrolled to go to sustainable technologies and to fuel green innovation at the university. They needed an informative poster to not only give dates and times, but to convey a sense of empowerment to all students to care about the environment around them.
This was a project done with the NAU Visual Design Lab. The clien asked for an eyecatching poster for the annual student film festival. I used the schools colors (navy blue, gold) to help it resonate within our university. This was the first time that I used 3d text in print, something that I would like to use more in motion design. I wanted to convey a dynamic sense of creativity among the students who make these films. It'll always be a project I would want to realize with motion, and probably will have something similar in the future.
This project for the NAU College of Arts and Letters was a collaboration project for the NAU Visual Design Lab. We wanted to give this community-driven project to have a dreamlike setting that inspires imagination while using film motifs and genre characters to tell a mini-narrative within one frame.

The process was interesting. We took our subjects into a photo studio in order to get great lighting. We shot the subjects and elements seperately and put them together. It was then my job to create a backdrop for the characters that appeared to be a sidewalk with chalk sketches on the surface. We then added casting shadows in order to sell the illusion. The ultimate goal was to have our audience stop and disect elements and ultimately put the scene together. These are a result of our labor of love.
