Journeyman

A few years back a friend invited me to illustrate a story he created. It was about a apathetic astronaut, Rob, and his enthusiast robot companion, Bob, cruising the space after any alien life form to make contact with.

I accepted the challenge and, once a week, we met to discuss the story and the art. After a while, it came out.

The idea was to do it exclusively with traditional materials, but as my copic markers started rum out of ink, I couldn't afford to acquire refills that time, I finished it digitally.
The idea was to create a series. We would publish online, in a horizontal setup. When we would be able to print it, the pages would be published vertically, joining up two digital "pages" in one printed one.

That's why the paged here look divided in half.

It was a great exercise of storytelling. And I quite like the Rob's dejected and skeptical look.

As I am working in a English language version of the text, I'll post just the illustrations.
