Baseline is an international magazine made for graphic designers by graphic designers.

As a graphic design student I received this brief to design a small 8pp document as a snip-it for the the real Baseline magazine. I had to design a new masthead, cover, table of contents, contributors page and a 3pp main spread about Kris Sowersby for the 25th anniversary of the magazine.
As the main story is about Kris Sowersby, so I tried to incorporate that idea into the cover design
This was the final result of my cover design and I have deigned it to have a silver foil over the actual finished print
The idea behind the table of contents is blueprints. Everything that is built is normally created from those designs. The table of contents is essentially the back bone of publications and everything starts from there
The idea behind the main spread was to keep it simple but still make it interesting through the use of a pull quote and the same column width on both pages
Being that it was the 25th Anniversary the magazine is to come with a subscriber only USB gift. I had two ideas of having the normal USB with the logo printed on but then I had the idea of making the Baseline logo the actual shape of the USB
Here is the Final example of my Baseline logo. I used a new font Knubi which was designed by Matt Vergotis and then modified it to created the look of balloons as it was for the 25th Anniversary of the magazine
