And then I wanted to simplify it, how do I replace characters with symbols? So I listed a few key words: time, woman, house, killing, danger. Therefore, I want to use the element of hourglass, which not only represents time but also resembles the graceful posture of women. In the second draft, I want to represent all three women in symbols, draw three hourglasses and each hourglass has three female symbols (oven gloves, wine glass, computer). But after I watched the film again and thought about the details, at the end of the story, the female lawyer Taylor got out of trouble and left the house with her husband and sold it to another couple. At the end of the scene, the fourth wife finds evidence of her husband's infidelity in the moving box, so the camera stops at her raising her shotgun. The end of the film leaves the audience to guess the ending, and perhaps the story is not over yet. There will be more stories in the future in this house.
So in the end I decided to draw an hourglass and put the house on the bottom of the hourglass. The sand on the top is about to run out, and the house is made of this sand, which means that the house is a record of time. With the passage of the sand, the top half of the hourglass gradually appeared the head of the shotgun, which is the end of the movie, let the audience keep imagination.
I chose to use bright yellow and black for the color selection, and the background was a combination of the colors of the three hostess's clothes published on the high seas.
