Illustrated book about Poznan in socialist times

Whole project was made in aim to get closer to live of citizens of Poznan in socialism times. To find out interesting stories, places they spend time in and to save those memories and pass them further to new generations. Research for book was based of articles, books and interviews of Poznan's citizens who remembers city around 50-80's.

This project is my diploma which won a grand prix price in 39's edition of competition of name of Maria Dokowicz for the best diploma in 2019 on Poznan University of Arts in artistic filed. The book present Poznan ( city in Poland) in socialism times. It includes 10 illustrations of different fields

of citizen’s daily life, such us: services, industry, sport,

entertainment and much more.

Pencil’s grey of the illustrations simulates grey of those times. Drawings are printed in offset technics and on top of it there are dry prints, made in linocut technics. Those imprints are mostly duplications of illustrations next to them, but they are less detail more abstract like our memory of past events is.

Descriptons of illustrations are on top on transparent calques.

For a scenario for the book the whole room was created, as an relic of the typical salon of socialist time in Poland. All furnitures, accessories and even a wallpaper were authentic relicts from this decades. The room was open for visiting for a week in Word Trade Centre in Poznan.

Pages were made out of deferens kind of paper like lots of notebooks and books of those times because of lack of materials, also some pages are made of authentic newspaper from 80's.
