Due to increasing prices on housing and lower salaries, young adults are renting a lot more than buying. This increases the frequency of moving, thus generating even more expenses.
Migrante, Spanish for “migrant”, aims to reduce the volume occupied by a whole living room down to the size of a single piece of furniture.
Migrante, Spanish for “migrant”, aims to reduce the volume occupied by a whole living room down to the size of a single piece of furniture.
Its main attractive is its quality of being compactable. It is designed so that all the pieces of (the) furniture fit into the sideboard; this with the purpose of reducing the cost of moving. Migrante consists of seven pieces: a three-seat sofa with backrest, a three-seat sofa without backrest, a stool, a coffee table, two side tables, and a sideboard.
Because all of the surfaces are designed so that they fit into two sheets of plywood, less than 9% of the material is wasted. Also, its joints are manually designed and manufactured, so its assembly does not requires the use of any iron-works or extra tools. This lets anyone to put everything together in less than 10 minutes.
