Curse of the Blood Moon - Book Series
Curse of the Blood Moon is a fantasy/thriller series by author Leah Kingsley. The series is published on Amazon through Kindle Direct Publishing and Audible. Leah came to me in the summer of 2019 with a previous design. I took a look at it and ultimately determined that it would be best to start from scratch, with a few similar design elements and fresh stock photography.

The initial sizing for the book was to be a handheld paperback. The background layer is a composite of two different images of clouds and lightning from Unsplash (credited inside the novel on the copyright page) along with a full moon. I then added a layer of green mist to give a dystopian feel to the cover. We chose three models through Adobe Stock to represent the characters.

In late 2019, Leah reached out to inquire about adapting the existing cover art to a larger format, as she had formatted a larger print version of Blood Moon's Fury for her readers who had low vision. While we had a larger and wider canvas to work with, and initially I wasn't certain that the content placement could be the same, but it turned out to be very similar to the original.
