The Spire of Wishes was the second piece of the Flux Foundation. Commissioned by the Black Rock Arts Foundation for installation in the Bentley Reserve Building in San Francisco. The Bentley Reserve is a former Federal Reserve Bank, and the piece asks participants to reconsider their environment. Built of recycled barn wood and gold leaf the sculpture challenges the value society and the economy places on our natural resources. The Spire of Wishes creates community in an otherwise barren hall by serving as a bench for visitors to sit upon, reflect and converse.
2010, Recycled barn Wood, Gold Leaf, approx. 15'x10'x12'
Subsequently purchased for a private collection, Sonoma, California.
