- Sebastian was made for a character contest for a course called Sculpt, by Leticia Gillett. After the contest, in which I was among the winners, I had a break and after a while I wanted do finish it.
- It was a very special character for me in my childhood, so I wanted to make with all the tools I could use to make a good hommage.
- I had the help of some friends opinions to do this: Letícia Gillet, Filipe Hudson, Victor Almeida de Souza and Luisa Dalé. It´s so important to have friends to look to your work and express their opinions.
- Hope you like it.
Final Render
Those were the references I used to make Sebastian in 3d to start sculpting.
During the sculpting fase in Zbrush
During the retopology fase. After that, I unwrapped the mesh and took back to Zbrush, Where I posed using the transpose tool, and then took to 3ds max to make the first render.
THias was my render for the contest. I didn´t have time to finish it the way I wanted, and It had many issues. From details that I wanted to put, to painting. After talking to my friends Letícia Gillett and Filipe Hudson, I started to change some things.
I came back to Zbrush, added some details and left the pose more dramatic, and then took it to Substance Painter to start painting
Some render tests. I tried to play with colors and textures. But something was missing, and after talking to some friends, I decided to come to the original colors of Sebastian, and to pay attention to the teeth: too much inside his mouth.
After correcting those things, I came back to 3ds Max and rendered the final Image. Above, some prints of the lighting settings
Here some render passes. I post produced in Photoshop.
