Octopus | Typographical Poster

Octopus | Typographical Poster
This project that began in late January was based around the idea of designing a typographical poster that would help display a literal-narrative for the word “Octopus”, a literal-narrative itself that would also include elements of illustration, by the way of a visual style that combines minimalism and simplicity together.

As you will see, the final outcome consists of the word “octopus” being placed in the centre of the design, via a bold Helvetica-styled font, with the second “o” letter taking on the form of an octopus eye, as well as a collection of spots that intentionally replicate the ones that can be found on the skin of the actual species itself.

To help push the overall depth of design that little bit further, I decided to include lighting gradients alongside a grain texture in order to help push away from a look that I felt would appear far too flat, and way too polished for my own personal liking.

So, be sure to tell me what you think in the comment section below!
