Wayfinding for Museum of Józef Piłsudski in Sulejówek
The Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek is located on the Marshal’s former property. The complex is made up of historical buildings and a new facility, built mainly using architectural concrete and raw exhibition. In its narrative about Piłsudski, the museum chose a synergy of original exhibits from the period with modern technology.
Kolektyf was responsible for preparing the communication between the presented histories proposed by the Museum. Our task was to prepare a navigation system on all the floors and signage for the exhibition halls. We designed semaphore signboards using the tectonics of the inner walls and a set of pictograms, with subtle colours and contemporary graphics relating to the Museum's visual identification system. As a final touch we prepared descriptions of the functions of each room, stylishly hand painted directly on the concrete walls.
