The project for the promotion of Industrial and Product Design it is a project that comes from the extent of the Protocol between CEVALOR and Universidade Lusófona of Lisbon, involving enterprises of the Natural Stone Setor at a nacional level.

 

The enterprise chosen was Mármores Galrão, S.A. that is a part of Grupo Galrão. It is a company that processes natural stone, transforms marble, lime stone, granite, onix (exotic internacional stones), travertine, slates and quartzites.

 

Their aim was to look for new ideas in the area of urban furniture or interior design for a market to be chosen by the parties envolved in the project. The stones to work with were to be indicated by the company.

 

 

THE PROBLEM: How to make the better use for unsold marble with the lowest productions costs possible, and how to do that with a smart and aesthetic design?

 

THE SOLUTION: MARBLEous. The modular bench that is a part of a new vision for urban furniture design in the stone industry. Simple, clean and wavy shaped where the premise less is more becomes valid in fine product.
