M.I.A.  Bad Girls

I participated in the call “Ma Chason Préférée” organized by illustration project Music Big Bus. My piece was selected to be exhibited at Alianza Francesa de San Salvador within the framework of the celebration of Fête de la Musique. The call was to create a piece inspired by my favorite song, showing how illustration can serve as a synesthetic catalyst for illustrators.

Bad Girls is without a doubt, one of my favorite songs of all the time because of the message of empowerment that inspired its lyrics and the many cultural references found in the composition and production of the track. My piece seeks to reinforce the idea that strong women are those who have total autonomy of what they represent: their abilities, their body and the environment that surrounds them. They are ordinary women whose extraordinary power is to live life without prejudice, without fear and live it in their own way.
