The book uses calligraphy/hand written elements all across, including for the back and front covers, I was going for a rough and unrefined finish, to keep the analog side of the project somewhat visible in the final product.

The index page uses the same minimal design approach, the countries are listed in alphabetical order and connected to the map, and numbered to further clarify their location

Each spread accounts for one country, the left page includes the title names along two short paragraphs regarding the Geography and the Demographics of the country, the right page hosts the flag and brief description on the flag design colours and symbolism.

I used lines as a secondary design element to keep the simple/minimal design approach I was going for.

The handwritten titles/names are in both English and Arabic, to make the two languages look similar I created the english version using Arabic writing principles, I wrote them from right to left, and I held the pen on a tilted degree, as if i'm writing in Arabic.
