UNSEEN MOUNTAINS
HIGH TATRAS, POLAND
PHOTO SERIES ABOUT NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN MOUNTAINS
OF THE POLISH HIGH TATRAS DURING A SNOWSTORM
Probably because there isn't any big mountains in Hungary, my love for the alpine landscape must have been formed at an early age.
The closest alpine region to Budapest is the High Tatras, where I come back pretty much every winter to observe how the weather and seasons effect the landscape. A few weeks ago I've decided to dive deep into the Polish side of the mountain range, when a big snowstorm hit the area - around 3m snow fell in 2 days. In the extreme conditions I couldn't see or reach any of the famous, 2500 meters high peaks - but I've found some never-before-seen mountain ranges just in front of my feet. What you can see here are huge rocks in a riverbed, covered by around 1-2 meters of snow. These photos were taken during a 25 km hike in -17C, and I wanted to create the perception that these photos were taken by a drone from above.
