The sunrise over the Himalayas

October and November 2019 I spent in India. My first destination was Rishikesh, that is located in northern India in the foothills of the Himalayas. I was there for one month learning about yoga. Rishikesh is called "The yoga capital of the world". Indeed, there are hundreds and hundreds yoga schools in the city. I enrolled in one of them. However, the images that are presented here are not about the city itself. They are about a place called "Kunjapuri Temple", about the Himalayas and the beauty of the sunrise. The temple is situated on the top of the hill, 1676m heigh, 15 km from Rishikesh. It is one of the best places to watch the sunrise over the Himalayas. One of the mornings, around 5 a.m actually, I went there with the school. And to be honest, it was one of the most beautiful sunrises, I have ever seen in my life! I was observing the colors of the sky, they were changing every several minute. And believe me, it was something magical about it

First, it was quite dark, so I could see only the outlines of the mountains. The sky already got its orange-pink look

Then it became brighter. So now everyone could see the beautiful mountains. I can't fully describe how amazing the colors were, how the scene itself was! You have to experience this magic yourself to get the full picture!

Finally, the sun itself started rising, and the colors changed to bright orange. Very vivid and vibrant color

The place had so many monkeys around. I got to capture one of them, it was sitting on the tree and enjoying the sunrise. However, you have to be really careful with them. They steal food and water bottles from people (and sometimes cameras). Remember about that, while going there!

I got to spend some time in the place after the sunrise. The sky turned incredibly blue. While leaving the area of the temple I captured the view of the city. You can see the Ganga (Ganges). The sacred river of India

That was one of my biggest dreams: seeing the Himalayas. And I am so happy, that I actually got this chance to watch the sunrise over these beautiful mountains. It was incredible and unforgettable experience
