ZEPHYR - Future marine vehicle design concept



BRIEF
In 2050, due to the impact of Global Warming, sea level raises year by year. Some people need to live in the house on water. They use a water vehicle to rely when they go out. When people have demand of exercising, it will also happen on water. Thus, they need a water riding vehicle. The vehicle is not only a transportation but also a entertainment of exercising.




TARGET AUDIENCE

PEOPLE EXERCISING OUTDOOR IN 2050

Due to sea level rise, people no longer have land to jog. We believe a new form of water sport is sure to be revealed. Our center concept is by riding this vehicle on water to achieve the feeling on land sporting. 
We have referred to ice skating athlete, implant the low resistance and flexibility from ice skating to the vehicle.

PRODUCT CONTEXT

FUTURE MARINE VEHICLE

Zephyr is a future marine exercising vehicle using surface tension to stand on the ocean water like the water striders. When you have enough surface tension to support the vehicle, you have two ways to moving forward, one is the surface tension difference like the soap boat, the other is like water striders similar to human skating on land. We combine these two solutions in Zephyr, first we use the principle like OTEC to produce salt water and pure water, release these two kinds of water into ocean create surface tension difference let the vehicle moving on, second we designed the back shoes let the rider could stand on the water and skating.
