This photo illustration is part of a blog article that compares IT services to the services at an airport. After sketching the concept, we made a 3D model of a baggage claim carousel using Blender. We exported this to Illustrator as a kind of cut-out. That was cut out using cardboard, with about 20 cardboard laptops as well. After setting up all of these loose components, the photo was taken.
For a simple blog post about Cyber Monday (a bit like Black Friday, but even more unnecessary), these presents were photographed in the same photoshoot as the baggage claim carousel. Admittedly the 3D model was not incredibly complex, but it was very fiddly work using photo glue and curling stubborn strips of cardboard.
