Typographic form exploration
This task includes the creation of compositions using one letter from a Roman font and one letter from an Indian vernacular language font. The black and white compositions should make use of design principles without changing the style, angle, weight, etc. of the font.
The fonts chosen are Nirmala UI (Gujarati) and Garamond Pro.
The next task is to depict a poem or text using the two previously selected fonts. The amalgamation of the two font types and languages is used to convey the essence of the text which is an excerpt from a Gujarati writer- Dhumaketu’s short story,‘The Letter’.
