Colorful, beating, restless.
Finally. Finally, we are here. Tokyo. I seriously have no idea how to begin with this, but what I can tell you as early as now is that nothing, and I mean nothing will ever prepare you for Tokyo.

A mega-city, Tokyo is unimaginably massive. Evident through all the different things you see in each and every city you visit is how thousand years old traditions exist in harmony with the most advanced (and sometimes the quirkiest) developments in technology.

One day, you’re in Asakusa, exploring Senso-Ji Temple and the nearby Sumida River, and just a couple of train stations after, you’re in Akihabara’s Electric Town, shopping for some electronic and/or anime goodies. Or you could be out in Odaiba, taking photos of teamLab’s latest installations then find yourself later enjoying the quiet in Yoyogi Park in Shibuya.

It is going to be tough trying to sum up our food experience in Tokyo, and maybe in Japan as a whole. We didn’t get to try any, but Tokyo is the city with the most Michelin stars at 314 stars (Paris, at 2nd place is only at 141 stars for comparison). The fact that we didn’t get to try any is only an indication of how many times I will be coming back to Tokyo for as long as I can travel. Meanwhile, I cannot stress enough how much konbini food will save your sore-from-all-the-walking feet from trying to find another place to eat. If I had to recommend only one thing from my trip, visit Fuunji in Shinjuku for the best tsukemen of your life.

Just like most tourists, we toured Tokyo on our own by train and by bus using our Suica cards, one of Tokyo’s IC cards that you can also purchase beforehand at a JTB office in your city. Taxis are damn expensive and I don’t recommend taking them unless you’re stuck with no other choice.

With this final set, I would like to thank you all who have recently followed my work and have been supporting the past sets I’ve been churning out! As with the first two Japan sets, I do hope you enjoy these as much as I did working on them. As usual, happy to answer questions regarding our trip and the photos so comment away!

For now, arigatou gozaimasu! Itterashai!
