So much of my creative inspiration over the last 18 months has come about from extended periods of time immersed in, and with nature,  specifically the region around the rivers and creeks surrounding Mullumbimby, Possum Creek, Huonbrook and Whian Whian. One of the core aspects of creativity that has emerged for me is symmetry. Nature, particularly in these lush, green waterways and rainforest regions, is more often perfectly random, chaotic, and non-symmetrical. But I have been exploring these environments,
particularly where there is a body of water providing reflection to discover an entirely new and unseen world of symmetry.

Water provides a natural horizontal reflection and I have been adding an additional 'unnatural' vertical reflection to capture impossible realities that reveal hints of nature spirits and portals, the soul of Gaia, sentient energies that are, for me, always perceived and felt in these places.

This exploration is largely about what and how I perceive and interpret the energy of places. Sometimes the call is so strong and felt, that the image kind of jumps out at me. Other times, the energy is subtle and not immediately 'seeable', but reveals itself in post after hours of slicing and mirroring pixels. Either way, the images that come to me don't ever feel like my creations..they just come through me. I often feel more like a conduit for these images to come into the world. I try not to 'intend' on specific outcomes and just trust the process of being immersed in these exquisite environments and intuiting what is calling to be revealed.

For millennia, these places, like so many others throughout the world, have been held in the highest regard with the deepest reverence. I feel it's such an honor and a privilege to enter these places and always do so with the deepest gratitude and respect, not only for
country, but also for all of the indigenous cultures throughout the world that have lived in perfect balance and harmony with these places, understanding the inherent wisdom and guidance of nature and carrying this knowledge over generations.
