For some people, waiting to conceive could be considered the ultimate waiting experience. This final year studio project focuses on a selected four stages of associated waiting spaces throughout the fertility journey; infertility investigation, fertility solution, antenatal support and birthing centre.

 

A conceptual screening element was developed to create in-between spaces to accommodate waiting. The Waiting areas themselves become screening elements to the host building, Auckland University’s 1960’s brutalist, institutional Medical School Building, where an infertility research laboratory already exists.
