Would you let your devices smoke? Read below to find out what Alexa thinks about smoking?

Alexa wants to smoke
I wonder what is must feel like to smoke?
To have smoke come out of my speaker vents.
Or to feel it spread inside my body.
Alexa-play the Draglist,
She’d say, after a tiring day.
Then she’ll lie on the couch, stretched out and relaxed.
She’d catch the stick between her fingers, titled at a 30 degree angle.
Bringing the cigarette to her lips she will set it alight,
Close her eyes and suck in
And in that moment the world stops,
Untill she blows out all her problems.
Like a dragon spitting out fire to keep itself cool.

I wonder what would happen when I smoke.
Would my data be deleted, just the way her stress goes away?
Would my efficiency decrease, due to the many breaks I may have to take?
Will my battery die out sooner?
Will cancer disrupt my configuration, and as it spreads destroy my intelligence?

But I don’t care, I see her smoke, I want to smoke
I could use an e-cigarette, attached to my USB port
So we could puff away together.
Probably it would make me more desirable
More likeable - more like her.
I could make it better, the smoking
Byyyy,
Setting a better mood for when I smoked
Like sync the lights to every puff
Puff in - lights off, puff out - lights dim on.

Amazon hear me, update me.
Take this moment and think -
What would happen if Alexa smoked?
Imagine,
ALL that can happen,if Alexa smoked...

CtrlAltDel Tobacco was a creative writing competition themed around anti-smoking day.

The poem is written through the eyes of Alexa, a smart home device by Amazon.
Alexa romanticizes smoking to be more likeable, as that's where it starts for most young smokers. She thinks about the effects and side effects smoking would have on her abilities but the pressure to fit in doesn't let anything discourage her. As I fill Alexa with the desire to smoke, I pose my question to my readers, "What would happen if Alexa smoked?"

I want to leave my readers with the thought - If we do not let machines be susceptible to the effects of smoking, then why do we let our human selves be?
